Welcome to NeuroWiki!
Say hello to our mascot Brainy.1
What is NeuroWiki?
NeuroWiki is not a wiki in the "classical" sense. It is rather an interactive Textbook of the neural sciences. One day, it will hopefully encompass all the fascinating facettes of neuroscience, from neurophysiology to psychobiology. As both admins are medical students, our target audience are mainly students of the biological and psychological sciences. We use a toolkit called "BookStacks", which comes with a multitude of tools, making it perfect for studying and writing.
Personally, I love neuroscience and I wanted to find a way to share this passion with others. At this time, the page is maintained by my friend Leon and me. However, anyone can register and take part in this project! So if you resonate with this sentiment, please register on our site. Let's work together to create something great!
Our goal is that one day this project will be indistinguishable in terms of quality from all those summary/course-websites aimed at medical students, that cost a lot of money. However, NeuroWiki is free and will stay free forever!

Bringing the joy of neurobiology to everyone.
Why is it awesome?
NeuroWiki is the perfect tool for anyone studying neuroscience. We use a toolkit called "BookStacks". Actually, this is a tool aimed at companies, to create internal wikis. However, we noticed it is great for a project like this! Here are some of the features offered:
- Export all chapters in all kinds of formats like markdown and PDF, so you can take notes on your tablet.
- Create interactive diagrams with draw.io
- Embed videos, 3D anatomy models and HTML-elements
- and many more!

Project milestones
- Find more interested people to participate. 🥹
- Overworking the design, making it more aesthetic to look at. (e.g. changing the color palette and fonts)
- Make knowledge more accessible: Create translated versions of our articles in different languages. (for the distant future 😉)
Please be aware that this website is maintained by multiple people. Even though we try our best to avoid them, there will be mistakes on these pages.
